The Social Inbox brings all your conversations — messages, comments, and mentions — from every connected platform into one unified view.

Accessing the Inbox

Navigate to Inbox from the sidebar, or go to so-me.studio/inbox.

Supported platforms

The inbox covers Meta platforms out of the box, plus an extended set of messaging and comment platforms:
  • Meta — Facebook and Instagram (messages, comments, mentions), WhatsApp (messages)
  • Chat — Telegram (bot or personal account), Discord (bot), Slack — direct messages, groups and channels, with threads
  • Social — X (direct messages, group DMs, replies and mentions), Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit
  • Comments — YouTube, TikTok, Threads (replies and mentions), LinkedIn Pages
TikTok, Threads and LinkedIn Page comments need the platform’s comment permission for the app (TikTok “comment access”, Meta’s Threads reply permissions, LinkedIn Community Management). Personal LinkedIn profiles have no comment inbox — LinkedIn doesn’t offer that to apps.
Available conversation types vary by platform.

Features

Unified conversations

See messages, comments, and mentions from every connected account in one stream. No need to switch between platforms.
  • By platform — Show conversations from a specific platform
  • By status — Show unresolved, resolved, or archived conversations
  • Read/unread — Show only unread conversations
  • Search — Find conversations by sender name, message text, or page name

Replying

Reply to conversations directly from Social media studio. Attach text, images, videos, audio, or documents to your replies — on chat platforms up to 10 files of any type. Where a platform only takes text (for example Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn comments) the attach buttons are hidden. Hover a message to open its actions. What’s available depends on the platform:
  • Reply to a specific message or comment — shown as a quote (a Slack thread reply, a Telegram or Discord reply, a reply under one comment)
  • React or Like
  • Edit or Delete a message you sent
  • Hide a comment (Facebook, Instagram, X replies to your posts, TikTok, Threads)
  • Send private reply to a Facebook or Instagram comment (once per comment, within 7 days)
Edits, deletions and reactions made on the platform show up in the inbox too, and messages you send show delivery ticks where the platform reports them (sent, delivered, read, not delivered).

Who sent each message

Every message your side sends carries a small marker next to its bubble: the teammate’s initials, or an icon for a bulk reply, a comment campaign, a scheduled reply, a workflow, the AI agent, the API, an MCP tool, or a message sent outside Social media studio (for example in the Instagram app or Meta Business Suite). Hover the marker to see the details. Messages sent before this feature have no marker. The REST API (GET /v1/inbox/conversations/{id}/messages) and the MCP tools get_messages and reply_to_conversation return the same information in two fields on each message:
  • sendSource — manual, bulk, campaign, scheduled, automation, ai_agent, api, mcp or external. Null for incoming messages and older messages.
  • sentByMemberId — the team member who sent, scheduled or started the send, when known.

Working on a conversation together

When teammates have the same conversation open, a line above the reply box shows who is viewing it and who is typing. If a teammate, a workflow, the AI agent or someone outside Social media studio sends a message after you opened the conversation, Social media studio asks you to confirm before your reply goes out.
Some conversations can’t be replied to — for example a webhook-only Discord connection, a YouTube channel connected without the comment permission, or a TikTok account without comment access. The inbox explains why instead of showing the composer.

Messaging windows

  • WhatsApp — free-form replies only within 24 hours of the customer’s last message; otherwise send a template (the template button is always available).
  • Facebook and Instagram — normal replies within 24 hours; a team member can still answer for up to 7 days (Meta’s human agent rule). A banner shows when the window is closing.

Conversation status

Manage your workflow by marking conversations as:
  • Unresolved — Needs attention
  • Resolved — Handled and done
  • Archived — Stored for reference

Read status

Conversations are marked as unread when new messages arrive. Click to mark as read.

Bulk reply

Send one message to many conversations at once instead of replying to each individually.
1

Select conversations

Choose multiple conversations from the list.
2

Compose your message

Write a single reply. Use the {{name}} and {{firstname}} personalization tokens to insert each recipient’s name — when a name isn’t available, the token falls back to a neutral greeting.
3

Preview

See how the message renders for a sample recipient before sending. The composer also flags any conversations that will be skipped (for example, ineligible threads).
4

Send

Replies are queued and sent in the background with live progress tracking, so you can keep working while they deliver.

Enabling the Inbox

The inbox is enabled per social account:
1

Go to Inbox settings

Open the inbox subscription settings.
2

Subscribe an account

Enable the inbox for each social account you want to receive messages from.
3

Start receiving

New messages, comments, and mentions appear in your inbox in real time.

Archive

Access archived conversations from the Archive tab in the sidebar. Archived conversations are kept for reference but don’t appear in the main inbox.

Saved replies

Create reusable reply templates for frequently asked questions:
  • Save text replies with up to four image attachments
  • Quickly insert saved replies when responding to conversations
  • Edit or delete saved replies anytime
